After the military’s seizure of power on February 1, 2021, Myanmar (Burma) has been thrust back under military rule. The coup dismantled a fragile democratic transition and triggered a nationwide Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), with millions demanding a federal, multi-ethnic democracy despite violent repression.
In this critical moment, sustained international attention and principled action are essential to protect the people of Myanmar and support the country’s path toward a just and democratic future.
